In a game that delivered everything a championship should, the Aldergrove Ironmen captured the Fraser Valley Super League title in dramatic fashion, defeating the White Rock Whalers 4-3 on a buzzer-beater in the final second.

After a back-and-forth battle that saw the teams deadlocked 2-2 entering the final minutes, the Ironmen appeared to have seized control when they struck on the power play with just five minutes remaining to take a 3-2 lead.

But the Whalers refused to go quietly. With less than a minute remaining, White Rock pulled their goaltender for the extra attacker.
Their gamble paid off, as they found the equalizer with 52.3 seconds left to tie the game 3-3 and silence the building.

Just when overtime seemed certain, the Ironmen delivered one final blow.
After a loose puck scramble in the neutral zone with time winding down, the Ironmen broke free at even strength. Adam Konowalchuk was sprung on a breakaway, split the defense, and buried the winner as the horn sounded—sparking a wild celebration.

The Whaler’s relentless push nearly forced an overtime.
But in the end, it was the Ironmen who finished the job.
