The Aldergrove Ironmen treated their fans to a thrilling night of Pacific Junior Hockey League action at the Aldergrove Community Centre, storming back from an early deficit to earn a 5–4 overtime win against the North Vancouver Wolf Pack.
A Hard-Fought Battle
North Vancouver struck first with a late goal in the opening period and added two more in the second to take a 3–0 lead. But the Ironmen refused to fold. Rookie Jachym Porizka put Aldergrove on the board at 18:05 of the second, giving the home side life heading into the intermission.
Ironmen Come Alive
The third period belonged to Aldergrove. Aidan Knutsen scored just 2:41 into the frame to cut the deficit, and after the Wolf Pack briefly extended their lead, the Ironmen answered back in waves. Tate Paul struck at 12:58, followed by Daniel Evans who tied the game at 18:45 off a slick feed from Porizka. The crowd roared as the Ironmen forced overtime with all the momentum on their side.
Overtime Heroics
It didn’t take long for the comeback to be completed. Just 30 seconds into overtime, Nolan Dufour buried the game-winner, assisted by veteran Logan Voyer, sealing Aldergrove’s first dramatic home victory of the season.
Between the Pipes
Goaltender Matthew Crotenko was stellar in relief, stopping 29 of 32 shots to earn the win, while Colton Konrad steadied the team early with eight saves in the opening frame. Together, they backstopped the Ironmen through a 41-shot barrage from North Vancouver.
